Our 2019 Travels

New year, new beginnings. Exciting times ahead as always. I am excited to share with you about our 2019 travels!

In a nutshell, this year will see us re-visiting some places we love and exploring new parts of countries we have visited.

Sadly, I will not be visiting a new country this year. Country count will remain at 108.

Our 2019 travels statistics are as follows:

Number of countries: 8
Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, UK, Malaysia.

Number of flights: At least 6 (London, Brussels, Sicily, Malaysia, Naples, Barcelona)

New countries: Belgium will be a new country for all 3 boys, Spain will be a new country for the 2 younger ones, and Italy will be a new country for the baby.

Belgium will be the 70th country that my husband and I would have traveled to together.

Our calendar for 2019 travels:

February: Leukerbad (Ilyas’ favourite place in the world – see video at the end of this post) and Whitepod in Switzerland

Other 2019 travels:

We are also excited to do more mountain trips and to visit other places within Switzerland this year.

We plan to take friends on the alpine slide/mountain coaster in Oeschinensee in July, possibly take the parents to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn and visit the Ballenberg Swiss Open Air Museum near Brienzersee, not too far from Interlaken.

We are looking at spending a weekend in Frankfurt to meet up with friends at the start of April.

In the meanwhile, I have started planning for our trip to India and Sri Lanka for February 2020!

Where will your 2019 travels take you to? I’d love to hear them in the comments below.

If you have any tips on places to visit for any of the locations we will be going to this year, please share them with me.

Till then, travel safe and enjoy the video of Ilyas’ favourite place in the world (Leukerbad) below!
