Why what you have is never enough

This isn’t necessarily true for everyone, but surely for most. We’re never satisfied with what we have. We always want more.

While on a safari in the Serengeti in Tanzania, I realised how true this was due to this thought process I had concerning seeing lions.

At first all I wanted and prayed for was to see a lion.

I saw a lion and saw I thought to myself, but the lion was sleeping. I now want to see a lion that is awake.IMGP7274

Yes the lion is awake but it’s not doing anything. I now want to see a lion that is on its feet, moving.

Yes the lion is walking but it is so far away. Can’t it come closer?

Oh it’s so close but it’s not walking right by my truck. Can’t it walk right next to where I’m standing in this truck?

Wow the lion is right there! But it’s just walking right past my truck. Can’t we see a lion eating a buffalo or some other animal? Or a pack going for a kill?

Holy moly we just saw it! What else do I want now? To be eaten by one?

That just shows how greedy humans are. Or I was.
