There are so many mountains in Switzerland. How does one choose which one to visit?
When I read the following, I knew Stanserhorn had to be the next one.
“Riding to the top of the 1,900-meter Mount Stanserhorn with the wind in your hair, the blue sky above you and a fantastic 360° panorama: that was the concept of the new so-called “CabriO” cable car – the world’s first cable car with a roofless upper deck. The comfortable double-decker is the very latest in cable car technology. The guests can enjoy 360° panoramic views as well as the fresh mountain air.”
We took a train from Basel to Stans via Luzern and from there it was a funicular ride up before the CabriO cable car.
The views that greeted us as soon as we broke through the clouds were just incredible.
We must have seen more than 200 mountain summits from there. I have never seen such views in my life.
It seemed that all Ilyas cared about was eating his fish snacks.
I cannot recommend Stanserhorn enough! After a great Italian lunch just behind the train station in Stans, we stopped in Luzern for a coffee break and had a lovely stroll despite the slightly depressing cloudy weather down below.
