Switzerland is known to be one of the most beautiful countries in the world. As I am lucky enough to be living here, I know I have to make the most out of it and what better way than to plan amazing weekend getaways in the mountains.
I have wanted to stay at The Cambrian in Adelboden ever since I saw a picture of its pool many years ago. The view that greeted us of the valley from the 180 degrees of glass panes from one of the reception areas in the hotel was just spectacular.
The weather wasn’t at its best. The clouds stayed quite low which meant we never saw the mountain that was there. The outdoor pool was small but was everything we needed. It reminded us of the onsen in Japan.
The little town of Adelboden is small and easily explored on foot from The Cambrian.
We had a nice little “kaffee und kuchen” (coffee and cake) stop.
Breakfast at The Cambrian was undoubtedly one of the best we have ever had. The selection seemed endless. :The pastries were so delicious. I could go on and on.
