If you are in Paraty, you would want to make your way to see the nearby beaches and waterfalls, and we did just that. Our first stop was to the beaches of Trindade which were about 27km away from Paraty. Once we got there, we had to walk for quite a bit to one of the other beaches and through a little jungle to get to another beach where we swam at for quite a while.
We then went into another little jungle trying to make our way to this “natural pool” we’ve seen pictures of. It was slippery and muddy towards the end but we survived and were rewarded with a beautiful enclosed area due to the big rocks, hence the name “the natural pool”.
After an hour, we walked once more non stop for 40 minutes till we reached another beach. We stopped and had a banana each and then went into the sea again for about 15 minutes.
We took the 1pm bus back to Paraty and caught a bus to Penhe to get to the waterfalls. We got to the waterfalls at 2.15pm and were very surprised that there wasn’t a single soul to be seen. The water was very cold. We slid down the rocks and just enjoyed getting a natural massage from the small falls. The waterfall we were at was probably just 2 or 2.5m high but the force of the water was so great that we got floated away immediately.
Breakfast in this part of the world typically includes lots of fruits along with bread, avocado and cheese. After enjoying a fresh coconut drink, we explored the cobbled streets town of Paraty.
